Just Imagine Crafts and DT Reveal for May

At Just Imagine Crafts we are celebrating Canada Day and Memorial Day with lots
of Red, White and Blue creations of all kinds.. be sure to stop by and check out
what the team has to share with you.

I chose to do a sports page. On the right side of the photo is a border punched
with Kreaxions #310.

Here is the close up view.

On the other side of my double I add the fall away piece and the other border and
added glossy accent dots to in and added a navy strip on the red.

Here is that close up so you can see the detail.
I used Bo Bunny Liberty Collection.. and it looks great for this sports page.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a great weekend.

SWAT Challenge #8

SWAT Challenge #8 hosts a sketch by Becci Manies .. see below.
I had to turn it sideways and flip it over to use the sketch. I fully intended to
make a double page layout and started on the left side with Becci's sketch.
Be sure to stop by the blog and see what the DT has to reveal.

Below is my finished doulbe. I was working on 1 of 3 April Project 12 themed pages.
This month was so busy and has so many things happen 1 double wasn't going to
get the job done.... (be sure to stop by and see the other 2 doubles when they are done).

On this double I share events both in Florida before we left and  also the things we came home to.
I start with our fun luncheon at Archie's Bike Bar... they have such
cool accent and decorating pieces around the facility.
Inside the place the walls have many license plates from all states and countries.
Down at the Fort Pierce water front we saw this amazing huge fish caught
and the pelicans sit on the local docked vessels.
I also share a photo weeks after the wild fires we were evacuated
from and it shows how bad it really was.
Lastly is the 2 photos of the Ice Storm we came home to
with major flooding, power outages for 14 hours or more and with
no heat after being in Florida.. we were freezing.

Below are some close up and I'll share what I used.

On this section I used cork board, some fun metal shapes and
added more fun bold bright cardstock pennants.
The title is thickers but also some fun scrabble board letters.

Making sure the fun bold colouring stretched across the double  prompted
this small twine header banner. I thought the colours were just
a little too bold so I stamped the image on them all.

In this section I continued across the double with twine and again added
some more fun and bold stamped coloured arrows touched off with a metal piece.
Also the fun bold description journal tags carry the
colour scheme across the double page too.

Practical Scrapper and my return to the DT

I am excited to share that I am back again at Practical Scrappers.
I will be on the Specialty Team and couldn't wait to get started again...
so today I start with the fabulous sketch of the month.
So using the sketch below I created the sports page above.
When you do as many sports pages as I do it's always
fun to find a sketch that gets the job done without special
papers and not too many special accents. There are only so
many out there and using the same ones over and over
is frustrating.. as soon as I saw this sketch I saw team colours,
fewer actual sport accents and extras photo opportunities.

In the close ups I highlight some of my ideas.
In the sketch a cluster of accents in the upper right opened some space
for accents but also the added photo spot.
The chipboard title is accented with Jillibean Soup corrugated brackets.

I loved the solid cardstock that could be layered with team colours
and the frame cluster to support more photos... and only a single soccer ball
and the few journal strip accents.
With the fab layers of colour forming the eye catching design.. it needed the
signo white gel pen doodled stitches to give it pop.

I loved the photo cluster with some framing, matting, added Jillibean Soup
corrugated arrow accent and white pointed strip behind..
all small thing but together in a cluster it's perfect.

Let's Get Sketchy

This week at Let's Get Sketchy we are using the sketch below by Ashley. The page I created is
part of a double page where I am sharing photos of the 2 oldest Grand kids .. can you tell
they love to dress up for all occasions... and love a good time even when they were so
small and too cute.
Lots of fun layers, accents, border and cute clusters  using flowers and buttons... along
with some journaling strips with a touch of twine.

Supply List:
Bo Bunny - Sophie, Twine, Buttons, Pearls, Bling, Brads

This detailed photo shows up close the cluster and the fun accents used to mix together to complete it.

This close up show another angle and some of the other accents up the right side
to the top where there is a border.

365 Cards #130 colour combo

365 Cards #130 Colour Combo.. sometimes I find these a touch challenging
when trying to find the best combo of colours to match the palette.
I used a mega mix from my 6x6 pads and used lots of layers.
The added accents are SRM Stickers and Momenta metal accent.

Let's Capture our Memories and Sketchy Saturday

Over at Let's Capture our Memories we have regular Saturday sketches for you to play along with. Below is the one from Isabelle for today and above is my interpretation of it using Bo Bunny - Sophie. I used fun bright combo because it was perfect with fun easy going photos of the Grand Kids.(aren't they precious).

I added the fun floral border, floral cluster with some popped, twine and buttons
inter mingled and a matted and layered title.

In this close up I added pearls and bling and popped up the cute tag that i added twine bow to.
You can also see the stitching on this section.

Would love for you to stop by and play along.

Project 12 April 2013

Project 12 for April 2013 is expanding into at least 3 double pages. There was just too
many things to celebrate and share for this month.
On this double I share some gymnastics, diving and my scrapbooking crop.

I used Momenta PA #2383 paper, some SRM Stickers. Jillibean Soup corrigated
accents, washi tape, buttons, twine, ribbon, brads and lots of Kreaxions Circle Cut accents.

I used this fab sketch by Jenessa F Franco.

Here is my double page put together. The only main thing to remember when you
make doubles is to use some of the same colours, accents etc to draw
your vision across from one side to the other with flow.
I used the base background, the border accent, lots of circles and
2 opposite corners have washi tape. Accent clusters both have circles, jillibean soup
corrugated accents and some ribbons on both sides

Here are some close ups of the clustered sections.

I have one more Project 12 in the making and will share when it's done and ready for posting.

365 Cards and Day #129

365 Cards and Day #129 DIY Embellishment..
place a sticker (my SRM Sticker ) sentiment on something
before placing on your card. I made the fun layered pennant for sentiment.
This more masculine card is for my son's 40th Birthday.
I added a Just Imagine Crafts/ Kreaxions Punch #310 to the base
and then matted it to make it pop...
even cut off the small line on bottom of the base to add more colour.
More overall matting, added some brads and added sewn on triangular accents.
