Welcome to JnW Crafts today. Halloween card is perfect for this time of year and month.

Using this ornament template I drew my pumpkins onto black cardstock. I was looking
for the chalkboard effect... then using signo white gel pen you draw the faces.
So easy but what a cute card
Background is a ripped piece of paper stamped for texture and demension.
The webs with spiders are cricut cut and glued on.
Add some ink on paper to soften the colour and last is the SRM
side border stickers and the sentiment.

Paper House, a great sketch and Published in Scrapbooking Magazine October - Trick or Treat

Did you ever notice that when your crafting things just seem to fall together when the base paper is the perfect theme to start with. Well that is exactly what happened with this page.
Some themed papers are so gorgeous you don't want to cover them up .. so
you have to step lightly when creating to be sure that the main part of the paper isn't covered up.

1. so with that said I started this page with photos and cropped them to fit with out losing the people.
I didn't want to cover the title and pumpkins on the bottom or the amazing moon on the upper corner.
2. With the photos in position the first thing that jumped at me was the photos looked like they were just hanging in thin air so grabbing an accenting striped paper I set out to make a border accent.

FOLDED CHEVRON BORDER TUTORIAL

3. Also above the photos was a mass of open space.. so I masked with gesso and also used the We R Memory Keeper circular roller inker to frame the outer edge. (see below)

4. Pull lots of fun accents from your stash that mix and match with the theme and paper. I grabbed some small short journal type accents, found a piece of punchinella to tuck behind the one photo and the halloween 3D  stickers  are perfect.
5. The upper corner needed a small cluster also to finish it off. Often this can be just small tag, pennent type pieces of left over scraps and an accent or two.

6.With everything laid out I still needed something through the centre behind the photos. A scrap of web paper behind the bigger photo and the cute tag above the smaller photo was a great additional to the overall appearance of the page.
7. Just remember.. always lay your page out, tweak the positioning and after taking a photo for placement you are ready to glue it down.

Off the Rails Scrapbooking... fun easy card tutorial.. embossing folder stamping

Hi Bev here today to share a simple but so cool easy idea

For all of us that have embossing folders this is for you.

Take an embossing folder with the brand name up .. open the folder
and on the side with the name brand on.. you use either paint dabbers,
glimmer mist, or ink pads to colour this side of the folder.
Now using a small water spray bottle squirt until you have water beads.
Take your white cardstock and place it down onto the folder holding it for a minute to
obsorb the colours and design... let try and finish your card anyway you like.
I used matting, inked the edges and matted again on a print paper.. all to pop my image.
Add a SEM sticker  border  and sentiment and what a cute fun easy card.

If you like here is a video link to show you how to make this card.

Scrappylicious Mixed Stitch Kit Club from August

Scrappylicious Mixed Stitch Kit Club is an extention of Linnie Blooms.
There are amazing Kits every month.

Here is my Kit that was for compiled for us to use for August.

Another previous kit from the month of August that I can share now.
I made lots a fun cards and created a canvas hoop project.
So glad to be able to share these with you .

Before you start it is easiest to evaluate your products that your going to be working with.
I set aside the hoop and canvas to do last.
Starting with the paper pad from Basic Grey ....Capture Snippets.. be sure to
scan through for your options. Note the the back sides of the paper were full print  and
the fronts were possible sentiments, tags and accent possibilities.
With this all in mind I pulled and sorted about 4 combos to work with. We will
see these as we start each card.

Starting with the card above .. Be your Self....
grab some card bases with envolopes or make your own.
Using the Basic Grey Capture Snippets mix and match some full paper pieces with
some cut apart sentiments  and maybe an accent piece also and per the sample above.....
all that compliment each other.
You want a few pieces that make for some layers, that add colour, depth and texture.
Cut and layer your pieces and place ready for gluing.  Apply inked edges if you like the look.
When it's all in place and you like the looks of it glue permently down to the
background piece. I then added the SRM Sticker stitches and accent scallop.
Now add the twine tied with a knot around it all and apply to the base card.

Next up is the Hello there card.
For this card I went through the BG snippets pad and found some coordinating papers in the
colour combo of orange and black. I pulled the BG Capture Printed Tape and some Queen and Co. Twinkle Goosebumps gem stones.
For this card I grabbed a card base and envolope from a set that had some embossing
texture in it already. I them inked it with brown and black.
Cutting just thin strip borders for the top and bottom and placing them down
let's you now estimate the size of the centre base for sentiment piece with added inked edges.
Next rip and ink the sentiment Hello there to fit the background piece
When the sizing is all correct start glueing into place. Finish the lower border with some
BG printed tape and add the gem stones to upper border... and another one done.

Up next is Shine bright with Hello Sunshine sentiment.
Pull all the great black print base paper, also the black and yellow star with shine bright accent and pull
the backside full sheets of yellow to which we will use to make
your punched doily and the cute accordion folded butterfly.
Start by cutting your star accent to size. Trace the Linnie Blooms butterfly from the stencil.
Accordion fold the butterfly and tie off with a piece of twine.
Take the left over piece of yellow print and punch out a doily or cut into shape to add a
layer to our card.  Place all the pieces to give you full view of card.
At this point I added the SRM sticker stitches across the top.. then glued down
everything else. The butterfly needed a twine flight path and then I added the SRM sticker sentiment
with matted background for colour and depth.
Another card finished.. these are coming together just perfectly.. and what a great mix of cards with great colours, styles and different accents.

Next up is a card that the base already had a cut out banner.. so I went to the BG Snippets pad
and found a fun print to background the banner and also picked a perfect tag to custom
cut around with the flowers on it. I inked it  and matted it with cardstock to help pop it.
Using the Faber Castell Gelatos I dotted the rest of the card base with the green and yellow.
I matted the banner from behind.. added the twine to banner with the extra loops on top.
The sentiment was added by using SRM stickers and to pop it even more
it was mounted with foam pop dots.
**********************************\

With these fun cards all done now it was time to play with the canvas and hoop.
I went to my stash to compile some possibilities that would work together.
I gathered ribbon, some left over canvas flowers and leaves, found my embroider floss,
grabbed some stencils, some inks, mists and some stamps small enough to fit the hoop opening
space, a button and some twine.

I hadn't stitched in a very long time but though it would be fun to give it try again.
First I stamped and inked the big back canvas flower.
I painted and inked the smaller front canvas flower.
I used gelatos on the leaves and added stickles to mark the veins of the leaves.
With my accent pieces ready I put the canvas into the hoop to get the finished size.
I actually inked around close to the hoop edge so I could take it out of the
hoop and work on it now with it flattened out. I knew from the rough placement that
I was going to hang the flower slightly over the edge.. It would give me a touch
more work space on the canvas .. so I found a stencil to mask in lower corner and also
a stamp of a tree .... these would be a perfect setting for the flower.
I placed the masking and tree just inside the inked hoop mark knowing I wanted
to do a chain stitch around the outer edge of the hoop.
Also found a very small but fun sentiment to stamp in the upper corner... still leaving
lots of space for the canvas flower.
I put the canvas into the hoop making sure the chain stitch was around the edge near the hoop.
With it in place I estimated the space for flower and placement of stems
and I added stitched stem in green.
Next I glued down the flower and leaves with some partially off the edge and leave not totally glued to ends.. just  the main inner sections. Last was to take some fun coordinating ribbons to tie to the top of the finished canvas and hoop... what a great decor piece.
Thanks for joining me with these amazing August Kit Club Projects... Hope to see you again soon.

Linnie Blooms Shabbylicious Mixed Stitch Kit Club

Welcome to 1 of my DT previous  reveals for the Linnie Blooms
- Shabbylicous Mixed Stitched Kit Club.
Above is the amazing contents of the kit.
AND below are the projects I made using the kit.

Here is my finished Layout and below I'll share some of the details to making it.

Starting with a white background I mask the clock using the Versa Magic dew drop chalk ink
Below the clock I used an embossing file that I put ink on and just pressed down on the paper.
Then using the dew drop shape of the chalk ink pad I randomly inked the petals to form a flower.
In this section you also see the fun Key tied with ribbon.

In this section I hand cut the chevron shapes which I doodle stitched using Staedtler black ink pen.
Lots of fun layers of paper from the 6x6 paper pad.
Also a layer from the ...  stencils pieces (stars and baby)

Super fun alpha letters

*************************************

Super easy but cute card.. with a fun altered style and an easy to make butterfly.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Next up is a card.... which I thought would be fun to change the shape up a bit.
Fold the base card outer wings to centre... cut pieces to add to the side panels. ..
either the same print or mix it up like I did.
Also find a fun front accent and also size to fit yet another accent I with words to form the front panel.

Trace and hand cut to prepare a hand stenciled butterfly using a fun print.. cut it and ink the edges.

Ink the edges of the butterfly...
and accordiam fold in tiny segments as above.

Tie the centre with twine and leave a short length for the feelers.

Assemble all the pieces and add the butterfly.
What a fun cute card.. and it was so easy.

************************************************************

Creating another fun card with an easy technique... using chalk ink and masking tape.
Follow the technique below to make the card base.
Let it dry then finish the card as above.
Lots of fun layers, borders, fussy cut doily and banner sections..
decorate adding ink to edges,, and I used alpha letters for the XO.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Start with a card base.. grab your chalk inks and also you'll need some masking tape.
Make the masking tape strips long enough to angle acrows the base.
Gently push down on top of the ink.. all along the length of the masking tape piece.
Now gently place across from corner to corner and firmly pust down to transfer the ink to base.
Repeat alternating colours  over the full base.. see finished base below.

My term is now over and I will be sharing anything I previously created for them.
