Scrapping Turtle had a fun join in and get the board active "5 Item Challenge". We signed up and sent our address out so we could all receive the same 5 items. Above layout has the five items... the yellow square paper, with pumpkin patch sign, the bat, the pumpkin and the orange piece of ribbon. This was so much fun... can't wait to see what everyone else does with it.

Super cute accents, great floral cluster with my too cute homemade button flowers. Here is some of my sample button flowers.. they are so easy to make.Cookin' Up Creation.. Science class, We Scrap Sketch, My Sketch World Challenge
Today is Tutorial Thursday ..and we are celbrating back to School.
So today at Cookin' Up Creations in Science Class we are discussing
Recycling and the environment.
So Scrappers get out those recycled items and make a layout.
On the layout above I used recycled Jellibean packaging, tattered black piece of (garbage) paper with distressing and the main piece today is the RECYCLED DRYER SHEET FLOWERS.
Also I used the We Scrap Sketch by Sue (below).

Here is the tutorial part of this post.
Take those used recycled Dryer Sheets. Cut them into different sized circles, spray with glimmer mist and dry, then edge with stickles and dry.... layer them and put a brad or accent through the centre and a fabulous Dryer Sheet Flower .. for your project. It is that easy.Terrifically Thrilling Thursday, We Scrap Sketch Challenge and Button Flowers

This layout sketch is from We Scrap for Jen's Saturday Sketch Challenge July 30 which carried forward into August. It was perfect for these photos and the monochromatic look is fabulous.Tuesday, August 16, 2011

SCORING on your layouts and cards
SCORING... If you have an authentic scoring board... great. BUT if not... replace the cutting blade with the scoring blade in your regular cutter. When scoring you can go vertical, horizontal or criss cross.. and by any measurements you like... however equal parts is the best.
After scoring your background or mat... use ink to detail it and pop it off the paper.
Here is a close up of boxed scoring on background and inked and a special marking on the square accent pieces that I scored and inked too.

On my sample card I scored the shape of bricks to form my background. As long as your consistent with your shapes and sizes they should look fabulous. Have fun scoring on your projects.Friday, August 12, 2011
Pattie's Creations Challenge #28
Today with Pattie's Creations Challenge #28 is to use an insect or animal on your card.
This too cute giraff is great for a young child's birthday card... i used soft colours and added cute fun kids accents, a punched border and a touch of bling. All the accents were Glossy Accented.

Just Imagine Crafts/ Kreaxions Punches.. layouts, punches and homemade Entwined Flowers
hi ... good morning.. lots to share today. Any layout can be transformed with just a punch. On this layout for example ... instead of a full solid circular background I used the circle cutter to form a double cut circle to form a ring .. then punched Kreaxions #303 inside the circle instead of the outside... then on the outside I machine stitched. I used a basic border but also punched it... Kreaxions #304.
The fall way pieces were used on the upper left corner layered to form a fabulous corner accent.
Then I made my own bakers twine flower. Scallop punch or cut the background of the flower. Use the indentations to wrap the bakers twine around going top to bottom all around working left to right until ever scallop has twine. Add a top smaller cut or punched flower, add a button with twine tied knot and a beautiful homemade flower. Here is a sample of how you can take the idea from bought flowers and make your own... lots of variations too.
Detailed photo of the inner circle punched and outer edge stitched.. with the upper left corner using fall away pieces.
This is the close up of border punched and the homemade entwined flower.
This Kit I used is from We Scrap and is called "High Tides". Sure hope you have a great day.. and be sure to stop by regularly to see what all the Dt have to share with you.... hugs Bev
